Kelcie Johnson 

Illustrator | Painter | Graphic Designer | Instructor

 

Influenced by the works of surrealist, driven by the color theorist of impressionism, and inspired by the tenacity of the late Frida Kahlo, Kelcie Johnson of Maysville, KY is a creative visual artist. She feels as if it’s her responsibility as an artist, to focus her attention on inspiring, influencing and encouraging the advancement of her community through art.

She earned her Bachelors of Arts degree from Morehead State University, where she majored in an area of art, concentrating on graphic design and painting, while minoring in public relations and event planning. Shortly after receiving her degree, Kelcie Johnson also earned a Grumbacher certification to become a fine arts painting and drawing instructor.

An exhibiting artist as well, Kelcie’s works have been shown in the galleries of Maysville’s Art Guild, Morehead, KY’s Strider Gallery, and Claypool gallery.  She’s received many awards and acceptances from the Art Institute of Chicago Summer Academy, to winning honorable mention in the Scholastic Young Artist award, Belva Simmons scholarship, Eagle Excellence Award, and Amo Peters Award.

Kelcie Johnson is also the owner of CIE Designs; a creative design company that produces illustration, paintings, and graphic designs. CIE Designs stands firm in its mission to cultivate creativity, innovation, and expression.
